BrightPath Port Moody
Fusion Projects completed the construction of BrightPath Port Moody, a 6,544-square-foot school spanning two units at the corner of a five-storey mixed-use building. Accommodating 91 students, including an after-school program, the project combines dedicated learning spaces with generous shared amenities within a compact urban footprint.
The interior balances student capacity with the spaces needed to support recreation and daily operations. A large multipurpose area provides room for group activities and play, complemented by a kitchen and dedicated support areas. The inclusion of an after-school area extends the facility’s use to serve children across different age groups and schedules.
Limited outdoor space presented one of the project’s primary challenges. Working closely with the City, Fusion incorporated a portion of the wide sidewalk adjacent to the school into its outdoor area. This approach made use of the available space while accommodating the constraints of the surrounding mixed-use property.
Licensing also permitted the after-school program to use public park space for outdoor time, providing additional opportunities for recreation beyond the school’s immediate footprint. Together, these solutions addressed the limitations of the site while supporting the needs of both the school and its after-school program.
The completed project reflects Fusion Projects’ ability to adapt commercial spaces for early learning and childcare. Through considered interior planning and coordination with the City, BrightPath Port Moody brings learning, recreation, and operational support together within a constrained urban setting.
