Fusion Projects transformed a long-neglected, two-storey commercial building in the heart of New Westminster into a distinctive early learning environment. Working with the remaining structure, the project brought new purpose to a property that had stood abandoned for years, creating a daycare defined by detailed architectural millwork, soft colours, and natural light.

Extensive millwork is a defining feature throughout the interior, giving the school a cohesive architectural character. A restrained colour palette creates a gentle backdrop for learning and play, while interior glazing allows daylight to carry through the space, maintaining visual connections between rooms and contributing to the school’s calming atmosphere.

The playground extends this attention to spatial design outdoors. Arranged across multiple tiers, the partially covered play area introduces varied levels and sheltered space, creating a distinctive setting for outdoor activity.

The completed project demonstrates the potential of adapting an existing building for an entirely new use. Through the execution of architectural details and the thoughtful integration of light, colour, and play spaces, Fusion Projects helped turn a disused commercial property into a welcoming place for early learning.
