Fusion Projects completed the construction of this 7,025-square-foot early learning centre at Tsawwassen Commons, located on Tsawwassen First Nation land. Designed to accommodate 80 children across six classrooms, the school brings together dedicated spaces for learning, creativity, and play, supported by a kitchen, family room, and art room.

The interior balances the practical requirements of an early learning environment with a welcoming atmosphere for children, families, and educators. A long central corridor forms the main circulation route through the school, with high ceilings and a distinctive lighting arrangement creating a sense of openness. These architectural elements help soften the corridor’s length and establish an inviting character throughout the space.

The play area is a defining feature of the project, with large, rolling turf mounds and an integrated slide creating an engaging landscape for exploration. Substantial logs and smooth boulders introduce natural textures and varied forms, encouraging imaginative play and providing opportunities for children to climb, move, and interact with their surroundings.

The completed school combines functional classroom planning with thoughtful architectural details and a distinctive approach to play. With a second phase envisioned to expand the facility, the project establishes a welcoming foundation for the school’s continued growth.
